When the Fire Emblem Fates games launch on February 19th at a suggested retail price of $39.99 each, players can choose to purchase one of two versions in stores or in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.

In Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, players battle a corrupted king by joining up with the main character’s birth family.

In Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, a misguided kingdom must be changed from within. This path of the game offers quite a challenge, with money and experience harder to obtain.

Each path is a complete story and a complete game, featuring unique storylines, characters and gameplay scenarios. Playing both will show players two different sides of one brutal conflict.

During Chapter 6, players will reach a key point in the story that has their main character making a life-changing decision. This gives them the option to continue along their current path or download the other version of the game and experience a new adventure for only $19.99. Players who have already played through one will be able to skip the first five chapters with a new or existing avatar to quickly reach the point of the branching story.

In addition, a third story finds the game’s main character not choosing either path. Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation launches as DLC March 10 for $19.99 for players that already own the “Conquest” or “Birthright” version of the game.

I go over all the characters in Fire Emblem Awakening, and discuss not just how hard (or easy) they are to use, but also how you’d best go about using them. Based on Normal/Hard Mode. On these difficulties you can really use anyone and make them good, especially if you’re using overworld encounters and/or grinding. It’s a fun sandbox!

For Lunatic Mode, the advice is roughly the same, except it’s a lot less forgiving and the easiest way to play is to just focus on a single character (especially Robin) to storm through the game.

One of my pairings:
There are lots of good pairings, so play favorites! Though per request I am posting my pairings from my lunatic+ run. Keep in mind I designed this set towards everyone having Lethality and Galeforce. I personally find Lethality triggered very often for me, like once every 3 attacks.

Chrom/Olivia – Lucina/Inigo
Vaike/Lissa – Owain
Henry/Sumia – Cynthia
Donnel/Sully – Kjelle
Lon’qu/Cordelia – Severa
Gaius/Tharja – Noire
Stahl/Maribelle – Brady
Female Avatar/Inigo – Morgan (the extra Rightful King is very handy)
Kellam/Nowi – Nah (a solid Tank unit)

Also:
Ricken/Miriel – Laurent (master caster backup)
Frederick/Cherche – Gerome (backup tank)
Gregor/Panne – Yarne (good but I barely used him)

For Male Avatars. anyone is good, but in this setup Nowi or any female child is ideal.
